Shaver Blade– a conventional manual disposable razor shaving

SHAVER BLADE AND RAZORS – A COMBINATION OF CONVENIENCE AND COMFORT

Shaving is one such thing that has gone through many innovations and methods over the years. From the contemporary shaving methods to the conventional ones, from disposable razors with one or more shaver blades to electric shavers, the trend of grooming has improved a great deal. The market is full of buyers of shaver blades and razors as well as electric shavers. For those who prefer the manual shaving method with disposable razor and shaver blade consider it more of a ritual, while electric shavers target those who need a fast, clean shave on the go.

The male grooming market was hit by an innovation introduced in 2006 by a company named Gillette. In the same year, the company introduced a new product, the Gillette Fusion five-bladed razor. The Fusion has five blades on the front, and a single sixth blade on the rear for precision trimming, shaver blade, which was a big success that outclassed its rival company Schick. Shaver blades were invented to facilitate the men with a closer shave. The shaving blades made by Gillette have a smooth coating on them. Their efficient design reduces skin pressure and irritation and thereby decreasing the chances of cuts. Moreover, such shaving blades move effortlessly along one’s face, cut resulting in a clean, smooth and hair free skin. Gillette is so far believed to have a market share of over 70% of the shaving blades and razors sold globally.

Choosing the right shaver blade is not enough. Knowing how to shave the right way is also important. The angle of the shaving blade is the first one to know. A shaving cream, no matter how overpriced, will not do any good if one does not know the right angle to shave. For a perfect shave, one should ensure that the shaver blades angle is 30 degrees with the face. Secondly, one is not supposed to apply any sort of pressure on the razor. Companies like Gillette have done their best to come up with products to improve the tradition of shaving. Therefore, let the razor and the shaving blade do their job.

The next and final thing one should do is to trust the shaving blade they use. Shaving is one such thing that can make a person presentable like no other thing can. A clean shaved look reflects one’s personality to a great extent. In other words, one should keep faith that the shaver blade one is using will give the desired results.

Moreover, razors that have a changeable shaving blade head are seen to give better results than the disposable shaving blades. Razors with double shaving blades give even better results.  In order to have the smooth and soft skin one desires, it is important to make sure that the shaver blade one uses is sharp. Most consumers prefer disposable razors for the convenience and the easy maintenance they offer. Proper cleaning of such razors and the shaver blades that fit in them can prolong the life of the razor. Dipping the shaving blade in a small amount of rubbing alcohol when one is done shaving will help the shaving blades last a bit longer before the need to be disposed off. Once dipped, wipe the shaving blade thoroughly so that it’s ready for the next use.

Keeping the shaving blades and the razor in a protective cover will also help protect and delay the need for a new shaver blade. The range of Gillette razors includes Double-edge razor, Two-blade, Three-blade and Four-blade razors that use two, three and four shaver blades respectively. No consumer compromises on quality, and Gillette, as its logo implies, has done numerous efforts to be ‘the best a man can get’. Moreover, buying shaving blades in bulk can prove to be very economical and cheap.

No doubt shaver blades are extremely useful but they should also be disposed-off properly so that they are of no harm to anyone. Collecting the used shaver blades in a box labeled as ‘sharps’, and disposing the entire box once it is full, is one way of disposing the shaving blades.

A dull shaver blade can cause skin irritation; however, manual razors prove to be quicker and most efficient. To end up with a smooth skin, one should wet their skin before starting to shave. Also, avoid shaving against the growth of the skin for that can lead to cuts and wounds. It is important that one does not keep using the shaver blade until it wears out; one should know the right time to dispose of them.

One can choose to shave the Gillette way by washing the face using soap and water so that all the dirt and skin oils are removed. The next thing one should use is a shaving gel. A shaving gel helps to reduce friction that may be present between the skin and shaving blades. Using a Gillette razor, shave with light strokes on the desired area of the face in multiple directions. Once the shaving is complete, rinse the shaving blades thoroughly and let them dry. Do not cap the shaver blade while still wet as it may cause the blade to sweat and mark.

There are a few things a consumer looks for before purchasing a shaver blade and razors. The list of such things includes balance, temper, size, grind, finish and style.  The balance refers to the weight and length of the blade as compared to the razor. Temper means the heat exposed to the blade during its manufacturing process. The size factor would mean looking at the razor with respect to the width and length of the shaver blade. The shape of a shaving blade is analyzed under the grind factor. There are two types of grinds, concave grind and wedge grind. The finish and style factors refer majorly to the entire look of the razor. Gillette does its best to work on every factor so that the customers are satisfied with the purchase. Other product areas that Gillette specializes in include shaving gels and aftershave creams. They make the shaving task a better experience by catering to the shaving needs of its customers.
