At Shaver spares we would always advise you to change both parts at the same to maintain the best quality of a smooth and clean shave.
The cutting system within your electric shaver works in conjunction with the foil. Both parts are ground to an exacting and precise degree to work perfectly together. By changing just the foil unit or the cutter blade on their own is like sharpening just one side of a pair of scissors. If you have had your foil and cutter fitted for more than 18 months we recommend this as an excellent time to improve your shaving experience.
